Project Announcement - LEDLUM

On 1st of November 2016 the European cooperative research project, LEDLUM, officially started. By developing the world’s smallest Light Engine, LEDLUM targets to establish Europe as the world leading innovator in SSL solutions. LEDLUM is committed to make a major innovation step in overall solid-state lighting engines by reduction of size, material costs, energy losses and an increasing lifetime. The LEDLUM consortium consists of 7 partners from 4 different countries (Austria, Denmark, France and Ireland) who will support the project success with their know-how and expertise.

Project Announcement - SAFE4RAIL

On 1st of October 2016, a European cooperative research project within the Shift2Rail H2020 Framework has successfully started. SAFE4RAIL aims to create safety concepts for mixed-critical ethernet-based networking as well as a mixed-criticality application framework, including the brake-by-wire concept. SAFE4RAIL will reinforce European competitiveness by offering fundamentally simplified electronic and Train Control and Monitoring architectures required for the optimization of railway systems, to minimize system lifecycle and operational costs.

On October 03rd 2016, Elena KITANOV started her internship at Technikon. Elena is studying International Business at Alpe Adria University in Klagenfurt and is supporting our Project Management Team.

Summer day at the lake “Millstätter See“ in Carinthia

On Tuesday, 5th of July 2016 the TECHNIKON team enjoyed a very beautiful summer day at the “Millstätter See”.

On this beautiful summer day, with 30 degrees air and 24 degree water temperature, we enjoyed an excursion with the motorboat around the lake, experienced the “Ringo” watersport, tried „Stand up Paddling", went for kayaking and enjoyed the given leisure time.

Summer internship at Technikon

On 29th June 2016 Léa GAONA from France started her summer internship at Technikon.

She is an engineering student at Télécom Saint Etienne in France with a specialization in network and telecommunication. Léa will support the research team at Technikon.


Speech on "Mathematik in der Praxis" @AAU

On 15th of June 2016, our head of research & development Dr. Martin Deutschmann gave a talk about "Mathematik in der Praxis" at the Alpen-Adria-University of Klagenfurt, Carinthia.

Business Run Klagenfurt

On 25th of May 2016, TECHNIKON participated with four teams in this year's business run in Klagenfurt.

Final EURO-MILS Review Meeting

On 20th of May 2016, the EURO-MILS consortium executed a successful 3rd and final review meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

MAMMOET Complexity Workshop

On 25th of January 2016 the MAMMOET Complexity Workshop was hosted by Technikon in Villach. This was the first meeting in our new meeting rooms and we had many fruitful discussions. The workshop was a great success.

Project Announcement - H2020 Project PrECISE

On 1st of January 2016, the Pan-European and American cooperative H2020research project – PrECISE – has successfully started. The kick-off meeting will be hosted by the technical leader IBM in Zurich/Switzerland from 21st – 22nd January 2016. PrECISE aims to improve the detection and treatment process of prostate cancer by developing new computational approaches to exploit next generation molecular data. The proposed software framework will be accessible through a graphical interface that will facilitate its dissemination and use by researchers, clinicians and biomedical industries.
